Anna Porubcansky is a
vocal performer, improviser, and teacher based in Glasgow. Originally from the
US, she has worked extensively in Poland and Russia (Song of the Goat Theatre;
Gardzienice; Irkutsk Authentic Music Ensemble).
Her training includes
classical, traditional, choral, and experimental voice techniques, and focuses
on the relationship between the breath, body, and voice (Kristin Linklater; Roy
Hart).
Anna directs The Singing
Group, a vocal research laboratory in Glasgow, and is co-artistic director of
the physical theatre ensemble, Company of Wolves. She is also currently
completing her PhD in experimental ensemble performance at Goldsmiths,
University of London.
